Program areas at RADD
THE CALIFORNIA COLLEGE DUI AWARENESS PROJECT IS A PROGRAM CONDUCTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH California dept of alcohlol and beverage control. THE PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM IS TO PROMOTE ALCOHOL-FREE DRIVING THROUGH R.A.D.D.'S DESIGNATED DRIVER REWARDS PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO AGREE TO USE A DESIGNATED DRIVER, CALL A CAB/FRIEND OR TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BEFORE A SOCIAL EVENT. LOCAL BARS/RESTAURANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE BY PROVIDING SPECIAL R.A.D.D. REWARDS, SUCH AS FREE SODAS AND FOOD TO STUDENTS WHO SERVE AS THE DESIGNATED DRIVER FOR THEIR FRIENDS.
To provide a more effective method to reach high-risk audiences with appropriate messages and advertisements in order to raise awereness, change attitudes and modify behavior of target audiences such as athletes and muscians.
R.a.d.dRadd.d.d. Has local and national programs to combat drunk and drugged driving and promote transportation safety. Programs target teens, college students and military personnel. Programs advocate no-use messages, positive lifestyle choices, designated driver campaigns and events, appeals to peers to make sound choices and healthy lifestyles, using seatbelts and riding with sober drivers.
