Program areas at Revs Institute for Automotive Research
The Revs Institute Inc. Manages and facilitates an educational research library dedicated to the interdisciplinary study on all facets of the automobile ranging from its history, manufacturing, agent for social change, psycho-social personification, recreational and sporting use. This extensive library is available free of charge to accredited researchers and educational organizations by appointment basis and through online access. The Revs Institute Inc. offers 136 archival collections, over 26,515 books, 1674 magazine titles, 200,000 magazine & journal issues, and 1,000,000 original images of which 704,000 are digitized and on rdl (Revs digital library). The Revs Institute Inc. did not add any new major collections in 2021, however, they did add to the joel finn collection and the david weguelin film collection and archive. Revs Institute Inc. has been selected to host a joint meeting of the national association of automobile museums and the world forum for motor museums in november 2022. The conference theme is "the future of the past is collaboration and will include keynote speakers from the leadership of the american alliance of museums and the international oclc consortium. The attendees will include motor museum professionals, principals, owners and collectors.
The Revs Institute Inc. enters various automobiles in historic races, historic car tours, car shows and concours de elegance events. The exhibitions educate the public about the history of the automobile, including text labels for specific cars explaining their significance and historical perspective, and trained staff who provide information on the automobile. The Revs Institute Inc. Participated in several events during 2021 including targa 66-palm beach international raceway, road scholars atlanta at michelin raceway and greenwich concours.
