Program areas at Restore Hope Ministries

Hunger reduction: one in four children in tulsa county do not know when they will eat again. This is something Restore Hope is committed to change. Last year, Restore Hope Ministries distributed 232,037 pounds of nutritious groceries to help 2,187 families fight hunger by putting food on the table for themselves and their families. In response to the covid-19 pandemic, we shifted our food program to provide a contactless process. We found that 70% of our clients during that time were new to our program at that location.
Hope promotion: when a crisis strikes, more than just one's physical well-being is impacted. The crisis itself can be emotionally damaging but the fact that one must seek aid also affects one's sense of worth. Restore Hope seeks to address these needs through daily (optional) chapel services, volunteer prayer counselors, and chapel staff. Before we had to shut down our services for safety related to coivd-19, 634 persons visited one of Restore Hope's chapel services, 228 persons received a new bible, and 49 families found a new church home. We shifted our chapel program to social media after march, 2020 with a weekly video devotion "wednesday in the word."
Homeless prevention: Restore Hope Ministries' homeless prevention initiative provided rent assistance for individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless. The agency offers rent assistance for families who can document a recent and unexpected loss of income and are facing eviction. The economic impact of covid-19 meant many more people were facing eviction as a result of income loss and some had significant amounts of rent due. As a result, our community asked Restore Hope to greatly expand our program. Though the impact of covid-19 was late in the fiscal year (and much of our assistance came after this time frame) we were able to prevent homelessness for 1,068 individuals in this fiscal year.
