Program areas at Restore Hope Ministries
Hunger reduction: one in four children in tulsa county do not know when they will eat again. This is something Restore Hope is committed to change. Last year, Restore Hope Ministries distributed 232,922 pounds of nutritious groceries to help 814 families fight hunger by putting food on the table for themselves and their families. We now have two full-time locations in tulsa for food pantries and have seen significant increases in the clients served at both.
Hope promotion: when a crisis strikes, more than just one's physical well-being is impacted. The crisis itself can be emotionally damaging but the fact that one must seek aid also affects one's sense of worth. Because of the covid-19 pandemic, we had to shut down our in-person services for safety but we shifted our program to provide online devotions. While exact numbers are difficult to track as a result, our chapel ministry posts on social media reached 31,545 people on facebook and instagram (@rhmtulsa).
Homeless prevention: Restore Hope Ministries' homeless prevention initiative provided rent assistance for individuals and families at risk of becoming homeless. The agency offers emergency rent assistance for eligible families according to grant guidelines. Restore Hope was able to prevent homelessness for over 1,219 families in this fiscal year, distributing $3,801,904 in rent payments during that time.
School supplies: Restore Hope helps hundreds of kids with the supplies needed for education each year. In this fiscal year, we helped 1135 kids with items to help them succeed. Thanksgiving: we share the abundance of the harvest season each year with families feeling scarcity. This year we helped 1131 individuals with a thanksgiving basket. Advocacy: in this fiscal year we helped advocate for the language in the notice to quit" to be easier for landlords and tenants to understand.
