Hold meetings and educational conferences of Providers of medical, psychological, social, educational, residential, vocational, and employment Rehabilitation services to people with physical, mental, emotional, or cognitive disabilities. The Association sponsors an annual conference that hosts Rehabilitation and Community provider Association (rcpa) corporate members, associate members, people with disabilities, students, academics, interested professionals, and government representatives. The conference sessions provide information on current developments and new approaches to Rehabilitation. Rcpa also hosts more than forty regional and statewide meetings on public issues of concern to its members. In addition, rcpa offers a series of educational sessions throughout the year that focus on changes in regulations, innovations, and system improvements.
Rcpa offers comment and advice to governments and public officials as to the special needs of people with disabilities in need of rehabilitative services, the needs and concerns of Rehabilitation facilities and the impact of legislation, rules, regulations and administrative policies, existing and proposed, on people with disabilities and Rehabilitation facilities that serve them. Rcpa participates in numerous public meetings and recommends representatives for participation in public advisory groups, committees and workgroups. Rcpa maintains a liaison with facilities and agencies, both public and private, providing other health services to persons with disabilities to assure fair and equitable representation of views from the membership. Rcpa also informs other associations of Rehabilitation facilities of its concerns.
Rcpa implements an information program that reports on recent policy developments and changes in Rehabilitation practice that affect members. Rcpa distributes information to its members and to stakeholders in various Rehabilitation service systems, including newsletters, alerts, special bulletins, white papers, public announcements, guidance, analyses, etc. Rcpa distributes an electronic newsletter to its members and interested parties that offers a weekly summary of events affecting Rehabilitation services. Rcpa issues other alerts and notices as well as briefing papers that cover legislative action, regulatory changes, economic developments, state and federal budgets, innovations in the field, etc. Rcpa also issues special papers, legislative updates, and policy recommendations.
