Program areas at Region 2 Area Agency on Aging

To administer social work, nursing and other human Services under the medicaid waiver program for persons 65 and older and adults with disabilities. Region 2 aaaa served approximately 779 participants in our three county Area. the waiver program is intended for seniors and disabled individuals who require a level of care consistent with that which is provided in a nursing home, but wish To remain living at home or in the community.

To provide funding and oversight for congregate meal programs for adults aged 60 and over under federal title Ii and title iii programs for the aged. Collectively, 82,000 meals were served at senior centers and other community locations.

To provide funding and oversight for home delivered meal programs in three neighboring counties for adults aged 60 and over, under the usda title iii programs. Collectively, 446,000 meals were delivered during the fiscal year.
