Content creation and narrative building: Red Wine & Blue uses content and media to engage, empower, and organize diverse suburban women. We produce live events, videos, graphics, a podcast, and more that draw in women who may not consider themselves political. Our content meets women where they are and makes them feel seen, heard, and inspired. To increase the viral nature of our content, we make it fun, heartfelt, and humorous so they feel safe and proud to share it with their networks. Community-building and friend-to-friend organizing: many women feel like political outsiders, but most are trusted community insiders, with extensive networks bridging many different communities and interests. We connect women to each other through our online and in-person training and events and support their organizing at the local level. Red Wine & Blue members, in turn, share our resources across their networks and become trusted messengers who increase Red Wine & bue's reach and generate additional new members and volunteers. Research confirms that friend-to-friend relational organizing is the most effective way to spread a message and move people to action, including voting, but it's also perceived to be the most socially risky. Red Wine & Blue helps women build the confidence and civic muscle to tap these relational networks through non-traditional content and training that help them realize their power to influence the people they know. Look ahead: in 2023 and 2024, Red Wine & Blue will expand its presence nationally and in our focus states. We will build lasting, organizing and communications infrastructure for diverse, local suburban women to combat disinformation and protect our public education, reproductive freedom, and democracy.
