Rebuilding Together Sandoval County (rtsc) is an all-volunteer 501.c. (3) nonprofit that has been rehabilitating owner-occupied homes of low-income families for more than twenty (20) years. Rtsc is an affiliate of the national organization Rebuilding Together, Inc. Which currently has more than 150 affiliates serving over 600 cities in the united states. We serve very-low-income elderly and disabled persons, veterans, and disadvantaged families who cannot afford critical home repairs. Our service area encompasses southern Sandoval County, including the communities of rio rancho, corrales, bernalillo, algodones, and placitas. We concentrate on repairing those housing problems which impact the ability of the family to remain in the home safely. Repairs typically include roof replacements, furnace and water heater replacements, correcting plumbing and electrical deficiencies, and home modifications needed for disability accommodations (wheelchair ramps, shower/tub/toilet modifications, widening doors). Our goal is to provide housing stability for low-income members of our community by repairing deteriorating structures so that families may live and function in a safe and healthy home. We use both licensed contractors and community volunteers, as appropriate, to complete our projects. Through volunteer opportunities, neighbors can help their neighbors build a safer and stronger community. Our repairs often reduce the family's need for assistance from social agencies and neighbors. 1.received new grants from bluecross/blueshield of nm and united way of north central nm. 2.hosted our first corporate volunteer event with sandia labs. 3.began a program of regular electronic media communications with a new contractor. 4.increased pace of renovation work by utilizing contract project management support. 5.increased revenues through rebuild store and online sales; added dedicated storage space for online sales; and increased use of volunteers in rebuild store. 6.worked with united way of north central new mexico to produce a youtube video highlighting the work. 7.conducted our first online fundraising appeal with matching funds. 8.secured new gifts from multiple corporate and individual donors. 9.transferred most reporting responsibilities to contract program manager. 10.participated in the energy equity program with the town of bernalillo, enabling 20 of our clients to receive special discounts and services related to reducing their energy use. 11.developed a new program with home depot to help low-income veteran families in Sandoval County. 12.conducted contract fundraising research to identify high-net-worth individuals and foundations in the area who might fund our work. 13.developed a new program with lowe's to fund targeted improvements for a homeowner with disabled children. 14.invited to address rt national office meeting on activities within the affiliate. 15.hosted rt national representatives for the national Rebuilding day event. 16.submitted new grant applications to new funders. 17.hired a contract grants manager.
