Prince Georges Leadership Action Network (PLAN)

Plan approached the housing challenge in 2022. Through analysis, we identified the crisis in affordable housing that worsens by the day and that has been well documented by the university of Maryland and other observers. We conducted initial set of house meetings, the lack of affordable ownership and rental housing emerged as the number one concern of those engaged in those sessions. We then led a successful gubernatorial forum with all md candidates to explain the housing crisis and get commitment from those candidates to make affordable housing a priority. The potential and current winner, wes moore committed to work with plan and its sister organization b.u.i.l.d. To bring affordable housing to Prince george'Georges's and baltimore counties. The project is ongoing and gaining momentum.
