Prevail, Inc. is dedicated to serving victims of crime and abuse in a confidential, supportive, non-judgmental environment that is meant to empower, educate, and strengthen those we serve. By offering these life-saving services, free of charge, we help people move forward to give hope for a life free of violence and fear, to provide care and understanding in crisis, and to help make an easier path in facing life's challenges. Prevail seeks to make positive change happen - in individuals and families, in our communities, and in our social systems. Prevail provides crisis intervention services including a 24/7 crisis line to respond to all crisis calls offering information, referrals, and emotional support. Advocates are available 24 hours a day to provide on-site response to area hospitals in support of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. In-person services include an initial meeting with the client to complete an intake which includes a danger assessment, an individual safety plan and a needs assessment Prevail's ongoing services include individual appointments, support groups, protective order assistance, court support, financial education, transportation to shelter, and assistance with filing violent crime compensation forms. In addition, we offer referrals to community partners such as shelter, food pantries, law enforcement, attorneys, and therapists. Prevail's primary prevention program seeks to reduce the occurrence of intimate partner violence through the promotion of healthy, respectful, nonviolent relationships. This will be accomplished through reducing known risk factors for violence while promoting protective factors.services were provided to 2,987 unduplicated clients.
