Program areas at Prestige Learning Institute
Children's programs-prestige Learning institute(pli) shared god's love with 226 children this year, encouraging both physical and academic development using curriculum embedded with biblical truth. Pli provides trauma-informed care, supporting entry into the u.s. school system. 85% of participants met or exceeded end-of-year developmental milestones. This year's week long english camp for elementary aged students served 96 children. The english curriculum focused on the truth of being created by god with guest speakers from a variety of creative and inventive fields, including a scientist, an inventor, story-teller and a song writer. The after school program provided tutoring and mentoring for 22 five to twelve-year-old kids through their academic-year. ....see schedule o for more accomplishments
Adult programs - pli works with both women and men immigrant and refugees to thrive in the u.s. In total, 685 clients participated in on-going programs, 1,161 attended a community event, with a combined 1,394 unduplicated number of clients served. -> esl classes- these classes had 202 participants with 75% advancing to a higher level. -> women's program- 21 women completed an introductory digital literacy course and 67 completed a citizenship course. Volunteers visited with 86 women in their homes, connecting and demonstrating god's love and aiding to equip them to thrive in the u.s. -> men's program- volunteers continued to build relationships with clients through weekly community nights and special events, with 103 men attending during the year and 65% returning after their first visit.
