PRAIRIE Music and ARTS

During the reporting period, Prairie Music & Arts offered programs at 798 Lois Drive as well as at area public schools and community centers. On-site school programs included year-round private music lessons and performances. Programs offered music students opportunities to explore the arts in a holistic fashion through quarterly enrichment group classes and collaborative projects during the school year, as well as through broader arts activities such as music production, group music making, visual art, and theater during the summer months. Outreach programs included year-round arts enrichment classes held at four area public schools in partnership with the Sun Prairie Community Schools as well as at the Sun Prairie Boys and Girls Club of Dane County facility. Activities included classes such as drawing, painting, digital art, mural art, acting, and stage design. Outreach initiatives strive to provide access to youth who may not be able to participate in after-school arts activities due to financial and racial barriers. As such, Prairie Music & Arts aligns itself with partner youth organizations that emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion and that spread reach to more youth in need.
