Portland Radio Project's primary purpose is to develop and operate a locally-controlled radio station that promotes civic engagement and community education and culture by offering news, interviews, discussion and local and other music in a commercial-free environment. PRP intends that this station become a model for other charitable nonprofits around the country that seek to inform citizens about news of importance to their communities, to encourage dialogue about civic issues and to promote culture that is responsive to the community.
