Portland Backpack makes sure that elementary children who rely on free school mealshave food on the weekends during the school year, serving approximately 1,200children weekly at 15 Portland public schools. In addition, in partnership with Portland parks and recreation: lunch and play program, Portland Backpack puts food sacks into the hands of 400 kids every friday in 4 Portland parks all summer.
