2022 supported 10 new entrepreneurs with cargo bicycles to help grow their small businessess and continued to provide coaching and mentoring. Also supported incubation of a new business to provide income and livelihoods locally in nepal. This new 100% nepali owned and run business produces silicone liners that fit over a patient's residual limb to protect their skin from sores while wearing a prosthetic device. These liners extend the duration and distance someone can comfortably function while using their prosthesis. Without a liner, a prosthesis is either not used or used for a significantly shorter length of time and distance. A liner typically costs around $200 in the current market and needs replaced approximately every 6 months depending on the amount of use and wear. The lack of money and access to liners keeps people immobilized and ostracized from communities. People are often rejected, abused, or neglected if they cannot become self-mobilized. This new business will continue to partner with prosthetists and orthotists as well as local businesses to continue modifying and improving prosthetic liner production.
