Description
The Piney Woods Golf Youth and Development Foundation started The First Tee of the Piney Woods in 2005 with the principal activity of instructing area youth in golf principles, ethics, and skills while developing life skills. Its goal is to provide young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to learn and grow. During the summer and fall of 2021, First Tee clinics were conducted weekly for six weeks with each session running two to three hours. Youngsters were given additional practice and playtime to work on their game.

Program areas at Piney Woods Golf Youth and Development Foundation

First tee clinics were conducted during the summer, and fall of 2021. The clinics were usually conducted one day a week, for a six week period. Each session ran for two or three hours. The youngsters were given additional practice and playtime to work on their Golf. Each session included a life skill eucatiion portion in the clinic. At the end of these programs the youngsters were tested for what they had learned. A total of 521 children participated in these clinics. Other programs and clinics were conducted at various local schools.
