Americorps*vista (volunteers in service to america) is a national service program that, for over 50 years, has been at the forefront of building the capacity of communities to fight poverty by providing nonprofits, community organizations, and public agencies with full-time vista members to create and expand programs that ultimately bring low-income individuals and communities out of poverty. Partners for campus community Engagement (pcce) is based on college/university campuses and is dedicated to the elimination of poverty by developing Campus-Community partnerships, creating a sustainable program, mobilizing volunteers to serve communities, and raising funds to sustain long-term programming. for the 21-22 fiscal year, pcce placed 29 full-time (365 days) vista members and 7 summer associate members (9-week-long program) across host sites composed of higher ed. Institutions and non-profit organizations across Pennsylvania and new york. Vista members immersed themselves in their community-oriented projects to focus americorp's anti-poverty focus areas of education (k-12 and post-secondary readiness and success), healthy futures (nutritious food access and education, and access to health care), economic opportunity (job readiness and success and housing), and comprehensive support services for veterans and military families. In 2021-2022 pcce*vista members had 13,441 individuals who received vista-related services from our vista program. From this number, vista members mobilized 1,226 students and community volunteers, who in turn provided 13,556 hours of voluntary services to those in need. Pcce*vista members served 3,202 disadvantaged youth, as well as 227 adults within opioid programming, and 150 adults in job training/placement programs. Pcce*vista members leveraged $412,339 in cash resources, and $145,113 in-kind resources to support community programs. Collectively, the full-time vista program and 9-week-long summer associates have contributed toward 254 organizations being more efficient and reporting overall effectiveness due to leveraged vista resources.
