Parkview's service area includes pueblo county & fourteen surrounding counties, which together represents 370,000 total lives. Parkview Medical Center had 12,067 admissions, 162,257 outpatient visits. Parkview Medical Center provides a significant amount of uncompensated and care below cost to patients in need. The Medical Center writes off $13.5 million in charity care. Parkview Medical Center is the largest non-government, nonprofit, private sector employer in pueblo county with around 3,000 employees and skilled Medical staff of over 360 physicians. Parkview Medical Center's annual payroll contributes $241 million to the local economy.parkview Medical Center's 66-bed emergency department treats a variety of Medical conditions, ranging from minor cuts and illnesses to life threatening injuries. The regional emergency/trauma department had 74,404 patient visits this year, and serves residents from southeastern Colorado to northern new mexico and western Kansas. Parkview's emergency department is a certified level ii trauma Center, the department is staffed 24 hours a day by board certified physicians and critical care registered nurses. They are certified in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, and trauma nursing care. It's equipped with a helicopter-landing pad to transport patient in and out of the hospital in emergency situations.surgical services at Parkview Medical Center treated 4,368 inpatients this year. The surgeons that perform the procedures represent many specialties, including general surgery, cardiothoracic, vascular, oncology, urology, gynecologic, orthopedic, neurosurgical, pediatrics, ophthalmologic, endoscopy, ear, nose & throat and plastic. The surgeons at Parkview Medical Center have access to leading-edge technology and equipment, including minimally invasive surgical procedures.
