Parent Information Center of Delaware

Parent Information Center of Delaware, Inc. (pic) is the only and largest nonprofit organization in Delaware whose mission is to serve families of typically developing children and of children with a broad scope of disabilities, families who are economically and educationally disadvantaged, and families who are non-english speakers, and who by reason of these characteristics are often less likely to be engaged in their children's education. Pic provides these families with Information, education and effective advocacy skills through one-on-one consultations, webinars, workshops and electronic news bulletins. Parents who participate in pic sponsored learning opportunities see improved family engagement, child development and student achievement. Pic also assists schools in reaching out to underserved families and in developing meaningful and effective family engagement policies and activities. During fy21, pic served over 1,000 families, the majority of whom were low income or english language learners.
