Sustainable livelihoods - education, health & nutrition, and economic opportunities: every person should have the opportunity to realize their full potential. However, throughout latin america and the caribbean, many people have little or no access to education, health services, good nutrition, and economic opportunities, which keeps them trapped in a cycle of poverty and insecurity. We aim to alleviate poverty and support inclusive economies by addressing the underlying barriers to sustainable Development. By promoting education and health, fostering entrepreneurship, and helping communities gain critical knowledge and skills, we are building the Foundation for individuals and societies to thrive.

Resilient communities - resilience, disaster management and climate: building social, economic, and climate resilience contributes to individual's and communities' ability to survive and thrive. Yet every year, disasters threatens lives, health, and livelihoods. We empower individuals, communities, and governments so they can better prepare for and rebound from adversity and climate change. We equip them with resources, knowledge and skills to assess and understand hazards and take actions to reduce risk. We drive climate-smart, green practices for increased sustainability in water, energy, cities, agriculture, natural resource management, and beyond.

Democratic governance - democracy, governance, and human rights: every person has the right to participate in their society - socially, economically, and politically. However, human rights abuses, corruption, and exclusion continue to plague the prospect for democratic governance throughout the americas. We work to strengthen organizations and mechanisms that reinforce democratic norms, promote transparency and rule of law, and foster civic engagement. We support democratic processes, civil, political and economic rights, media freedom, and anti-corruption.
