Program areas at Pacific Juvenile Defender Center
Through specialized training programs, educational support, and policy reform work, PJDC provides leadership on juvenile justice issues in California with a holistically-focused approach to juvenile defense that takes into account the unique legal, educational, emotional and psychological needs, and inherent potential of youth. Specifically, the educational support program is where the organization produces and distributes juvenile defense practice materials to defenders, social workers, and other youth advocates. The policy reform program where the organization collaborates with juvenile advocates and community groups to bring about local and systemic change to the juvenile legal system. Lastly, the training program is where the organization provides specialized legal and practical trainings to juvenile defenders, social workers, and other youth advocates.
