Program areas at Oso Firemans Association

Equipment, tools, uniforms, etc.: Most equipment is provided by the Fire District. However, our Organization supplements that when we can to buy additional items that have not been purchased by the District.
Call reimbursements: The volunteer firefighters receive a small payment for each "call" they respond to ($5.00 each "call"). The number of call responses are tracked and the money is paid out in December each year. The Fire District provides the funds to our Organization, which we then pay out to each firefighter.
Chief's salary fund: Our fire chief normally works about 10 hours weekly, and is paid by the Fire District. However, when the Oso mudslide happened he needed to work 40+ hours a week for several months. Our Organization made a contribution to the District to assist with covering his salary.
