Program areas at Orion Industries
Manufacturing:the manufacturing training program provides paid on-the-job training to program participants to produce aerospace and defense products. Program participants receive mentoring, skills training, vocational assessments of skills and abilities, and job placement services into competitive employment in their local community. Participants are referred by the Washington state department of social & health services division of vocational rehabilitation and other government and community organizations including Washington department of services for the blind, labor and Industries, veterans administration, aerospace joint apprenticeship committee, king county employment and community non-profit programs. In 2022, Orion employed 131 in our paid manufacturing training, janitorial training and placement programs. This program placed and supported 50 individuals into competitive jobs in the community.
Training & employment services:training & employment services provides vocational counseling, case management, instruction in customer service and math skills, job placement, and job coaching to program participants to meet their employment goals. Participants include individuals referred by the Washington state department of social & health services division of vocational rehabilitation, other government and community organizations, including labor and Industries, veterans administration, and king and snohomish county agencies in partnership with the Washington state department of social & health services development disabilities administration division and community not-for-profit programs. In 2022, Orion provided training and employment services to 152 individuals including placing 91 into new jobs in the community and supporting 61 with dda services.
