Program areas at Organization for Transformative Works
Archive of our own, the flagship program of otw, offers a non-commercial and non-profit central hosting place for fanworks using open-source archiving software. In 2022, the archive reached over ten million hosted Transformative Works from over five million registered users.
Transformative Works and cultures is a peer-reviewed academic journal that seeks to promote scholarship on fanworks and practices. The journal published two issues in 2022.
The mission of fanlore is to record the history and the current state of fan communities, such as fanworks, fan activities, fan terminology, individual fans, and fannish related events. In 2022, fanlore cumulatively published over 60,000 articles which have undergone over 1,200,000 edits by volunteers from our communities.
