Program areas at OFII

The Organization represents the interests of its members with respect to legal and economic developments affecting foreign direct investmentin the united states. All members are domestic subsidiaries of foreign-owned corporations. To this end, the Organization maintains an office with 12 full-time employees as well as two to three interns, who are responsible for administrative and research matters, and assistance with dissemination of information to members. Most of the program work is performed by outside consultants, who are accountants, attorneys, or economists. Additionally, a significant portion of the president's time is devoted to program work. This work consists of collecting, analyzing, and informing members about current legal and economic issues that affect their business interests. Periodic conferences of member representatives are held to discuss these issues, to hear invited speakers on related topics, and to assist in formulation of action recommendations to members.
