Disaster Recovery: Orange County Disaster Rebuild (OCDR) serves as the long-term recovery group for Orange County, Texas. OCDR works with local and national businesses and nonprofit organizations in coordination with local, state and federal emergency management agencies to ensure that Orange County families impacted by natural disasters receive assistance. Families and individuals whose needs are not met by available federal resources are referred to OCDR by their case managers. Each case is reviewed by a committe of community volunteers who approve the amount and nature of the assistance provided by OCDR. During 2022, OCDR provided direct assistance to approximately 40 families impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Laura, Tropical Storm Imelda and Winter Storm Uri.
