Pathways To College is celebrating our 20th anniversary of nurturing overlooked students of color toward success in College and in life. Pathways is extremely proud that, continuing a trend that began with our founding as an independent nonprofit in 2003, 100% of our class of 2023 earned College acceptance despite their entire high school tenure being affected by the pandemic.during fy23, Pathways began the demonstration phase of our newest program, the blendedlearning national scholars program. Scholars in three sites: gary, in; newark, nj; and pine bluff, ar, came together To learn from Pathways' highly successful, researchbased historic curriculum, based on our twentyyear emphasis on social and emotional learning. In addition To the unique experience of engaging in learning with peers across geographies, scholars experienced overnight trips To explore colleges and cultural sites in chicago, il; memphis, tn; and Washington, dc.eighteen scholars were selected for employment as scholar ambassadors through a paid, workbased learning opportunity with responsibilities for professional learning, peer recruitment, marketing, and other areas of leadership.ten scholars were named award winners in our annually published literary magazine, scholar voices. An additional 19 scholars contributed artwork or writing in the genres of art, essay, memoir, photography, and poetry httpspathwaystocollegeorgscholarv... staff identified and carefully prepared four scholars To complete a rigorous application for the prestigious oprah winfrey leaders scholarship, which provides full funding and an ongoing mentoring network. Pathways was one of just a few organizations chosen To nominate prospective applicants. One of our scholars is among the scholarship recipients.pathways exceeded our $2 million oprah winfrey charitable foundation matching challenge grant, which ended in november 2022. From 2020 through 2022, generous donations toward the match totaled more than $2,020,000.
