Omaha Academy of Ballet

Omaha Academy of Ballet (oab) provides instruction and training in classical Ballet, pointe, creative movement, modern, jazz, and tap for ages three through adult to 300+ students each year with an annual performing opportunity at the spring dance concert held in late may or early june of each year, which attracts over 1,500 community members. We create a unique training environment by offering live piano accompaniment for the majority of our classes, keeping class sizes small, and offering scholarships for dancers experiencing finanical barriers.

Oab provides free beginning Ballet classes to title 1 elementary school students through its "dance away your afternoons" program which is part of oab's community engagement programming.

Omaha dance project (odp) is oab's annual professional-style performance opportunity open to dancers and choreographers from the community at-large. The production features a signature Ballet with 2-4 accompanying dance works that are commissioned from local, regional, or national choreographers. On average, over 40 dancers, ages 12-40, perform in odp and 700+ community members attend an odp performance.
