Description
Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition encourages independent living by contracting with various agencies to provide transportation and nutritional services for qualified individuals. They provide hot, nutritionally balanced congregate meals on a suggested donation basis to seniors at local centers in multiple counties and home delivered meals to homebound seniors who are over 60 years old. In total, they provided 36,085 and 52,692 meals respectively.

Program areas at Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition

Congregate nutritioncongregate (hot, nutritionally balanced) meals are provided to seniors on a suggested donation basis. 36,085 meals were provided to senior citizens at local senior centers in Okanogan, chelan, douglas and lincoln counties. Congregate meal are offered on different days in different locations within our service areas according to the density of population. Serving days vary from 5 days per week to 2 days per week.
Transportation28,425 demand response rides were provided to senior citizens, individuals with disabilities and the general public within Okanogan County. 11,127 rides were provided on our fixed routes to link communities and improve access to employment, shopping, medical and other services.
Home delivered nutritionhome delivered meals are provided to seniors who are homebound on a suggested donation basis. 52,692 meals were provided to individuals over 60 years of age who qualified for home delivery, being unable to leave their homes in Okanogan, chelan, douglas and lincoln counties. Homebound seniors are offered 1 meal per day if needed.
