Program areas at Renee Jones Empowerment Center

Project Red Cord Outreach, Community Awareness, Public Education and Advocacy: RJEC conducts its outreach programs in 5 neighborhoods, known for high levels of prostitution, poverty, and drug use. In 2023, RJEC conducted 38 outreach events; each provided information about free services and resources, personal care items and hot meals. Also, RJEC provides an ongoing series of awareness-related podcasts,The Red Cord Chronicles, which reach a wide and varied audience and continues to provide awareness training to the public, law enforcement, governmental entities and others on request. RJEC now also collaborates internationally in a Global Initiative which aims to offer new ideas on how RJEC's treatments and outreach strategies can be used to combat human trafficking worldwide. As part ot that initiative, in 2023, RJEC began an extensive and innovative multi-pronged collaboration with representatives from Malawi.
Medical Clinic: The Clinic expanded its services in 2023. It offers general assessments, health and wellness information and referrals. The Clinic provides general assessments to its clients during their weekly visits to the Center and general assessments to the community three days per week. Additionally, the Center provides monthly services at two Project Red Cord outreach locations with its mobile medical clinic. RJEC hosts quarterly health talks as well as an annual health fair which are open to the community.
Restorative Services and Support to Human Trafficking Survivors: RJEC staff, outside specialists, and volunteers provide an extensive and varied list of programs and services to human trafficking survivors and those vulnerable for being trafficked. These programs include, but are not limited to, training in life skills and employment skills, support groups, mentoring and counseling, and numerous therapudic and rehabilitative opportunties such as art therapy, equine therapy, journaling and education on health and wellness. The recently implemented Plant Club has facilitated interaction with the healing elements of nature and to promote the beauty and joy of nurturing plant life. RJEC provides transportation support to enable clients to get to the Center.
