Program areas at Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association
NEMAA presents Art-A-Whirl (AAW) in Northeast Minneapolis annually during the third weekend of May. During AAW, private studios and galleries are open to the public, creating a unique opportunity for artists and community to connect. Over 1,200 NEMAA artists members participate in 80 locations, and hundreds of local organizations and businesses become members and advertisers. NEMAA prints 20,000 Artists Directories/AAW Guides to distribute throughout the year, coordinates free trolleys and info stations. Participating artists: 1,200. Estimated number of visitors: 100,000. **Fall Open Studios. A seasonal counterpoint to Art-A-Whirl, Fall Open Studios serves as the umbrella term for several individual open studio events which NEMAA compiles and distributes information for, providing promotion for the participants. Number of persons benefited 10,000.
