During fy2022, the organization operated 1 pediatric practice with 5 physicians, an ob-gyn practice with 3 physicians, 3 internal medicine practices with 5 physicians, 1 cardiology practice with 1 physician, a podiatry practice with 1 physician and a concierge practice with 2 physicians which collectively generated approximately 35,886 patient encounters. In addition to serving patients, Northeast Medical Group, PLLC and its affiliate in ynhhsc, Northeast Medical Group, inc., collaborated to accomplish the following integrated programs on behalf of both organizations (together referred to as "nemg"): promote and enhance the quality of health care within the communities served by nemg. Examples of services provided by nemg include the following: 1. The study, diagnosis and treatment of human ailments and injuries by licensed persons. 2. The rendering of Medical and surgical treatment, consultation or advice by employees or agents of the corporation to patients without regard to race, color, creed, sex, age or ability to pay for such care and services. 3. The promotion, enhancement, improvement and development of Medical, surgical and scientific research at hospitals affiliated with yale new haven health services corporation and throughout the communities they serve. 4. The promotion, enhancement, improvement and augmentation of the quality of Medical and clinical education and patient care at hospitals affiliated with yale new haven health services corporation. 5. The promotion and enhancement of high quality Medical care and other human services for the benefit of all persons in the communities nemg serves. 6. The augmentation of the planning process for the promotion of the general well-being and human health needs of the communities nemg serves. Free and charity services relate to services provided for which no payment is anticipated. The amount of free and charity care provided by nemg was $2,556,522 and $2,380,960 for the years ended september 30, 2022 and 2021, respectively. These charges are not included in net patient service revenue.
