Health start - aims to reduce the number of deaths for children less than one year of age and to eliminate the disparity demonstrated in the rates of infant mortality for the african-american segment of the population in the following parishes: bienville , claiborne , morehouse , richland , sabine , and union.
Medical education- to introduce medical students to primary care in rural and/or underdeserved areas which allows students to work one-on-one with the practitioner in either a private setting or in a public health environment.
Youth programs - to entice youth to enter into health careers in order to eliminate the shortage of health professionals in Louisiana. (especially in rural areas). We collaborated with community partners to provide youth with hands on learning opportunities.
