The NG Statewide Independent Living Council (NCSILC) is the North Carolina Governor's appointed council established under Title VI of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, to promote independent hving by consumer control, peer support, self-help and motivation, and individual and systems advocacy. it performs its mission under the leadership of a 20 member board of directors, an executive director, suppport staff and in collaboration with eight Centers for Independent Living across the state. The Board of Directors meet quarterly as a full body with committee meetings at other tmes. It also supports a leadership program for youth with disabilities and is an integral part of the development of the State Plan for Indpendent Living (SPIL
