Public Education/Civic Engagement: Educating citizens on env. issues and how to participate in public policy making and the democratic process; organizing/leadership development in communities; non-partisan civic engagement/infrequent voter mobilization campaigns through field canvassing; partnering with national and state partners to build public, media, and grasstop support for climate change and other sound environmental policies. Work with state agencies and commissions to improve rulemaking and enforcement. Provide detailed support and resources to the environmental community on enforcement issues. Work to ensure that the environmental community and state agency staff are working together and communicating effectively.
Influencing rulemaking/policy-making: watchdog rulemaking process & administrative advocacy with state agencies to improve NC environmental rules advocacy within limits of 501h election; advocate for joint priorities.
