Info & Education Program: publish weekly e-newsletters for 8000 members regarding NC and national environmental issues host annual event highlighting environmental champions public education on environmental issues media outreach, reports, events publish e-newsletter for legislators member services. Engage activists and members on key state and federal policy issues.
Influencing policy program: staff/volunteers performed legislative & non-legislative activities including research, education, lobbying, and policy development. Published weekly e-newsletter for decision-makers. Work with various coalitions of environmental and allied groups to develop strategy and advocate on key environmental issues. Educate and engage citizens and members on key environmental policies. Long term objective is to pass sound environmental legislation and strong, equitable environmental protections for all North Carolinians.
Accountability & Political program: Staff and members engage in efforts to hold NC legislators accountable for environmental decisions publish approx 3000 legislative scorecards engage over 30,000 online activists engage voters in the democratic process inform members of endorsements work to elect pro-conservation candidates for legislative office.
