Program areas at New York Ehealth Collaborative
The statewide health information of New York (shin-ny) program is the health information exchange (hie) for the state of New York. It's a network of information which allows health care professionals to appropriately access and securely share a patient's medical information electronically. Nyec has successfully maintained the statewide connectivity throughout the state of New York utilizing six regional hie's , called rhios/qes, and is the state designated entity for this work.
A New York state funded program called eligible professional program (ep2) to advance health information technology in New York state assisting health organizations to make the transition from paper-based health records to electronic health records. With the ep2 funding, nyec assists physicians, clinics, nursing homes and other health care providers in making this transition.
