Program areas at New Jersey League of Conservation Voters Education Fund

Stormwater New Jersey lcv Education Fund leads a coalition of nonprofit organizations called "flood defense nj," to educate and engage the public about the benefits of stormwater infrastructure to protect the environment and public health. The organization produces tangible,on-the-ground results by assisting communities to upgrade their green infrastructure to effectively address stormwater runoff and aging and outdated infrastructure. The three primary components of this program are (1) direct technical assistance to communities; (2) public Education on problems associated with polluted stormwater runoff and the benefits of stormwater utilities; and (3) locally-focused public Education and engagement. The organization conducted robust grassroots Education, outreach and engagement programming,culminating in three communities establishing stormwater utilities to Fund green and gray water infrastructure to clean up polluted runoff and reduce flooding.
Green-in-21 - conducted statewide effort to educate New jerseyans about six core issues: achieving 100% clean energy; clean water for all; protecting our natural lands and parks; prioritizing our communities; and ensuring safe and clean transportation. By increasing public awareness of these issues, njlcvef sought to elevate the prominence of these issues in a nonpartisan manner in the publicdiscussion regarding the upcoming New Jersey elections.
Clean energythe organization educates the public on climate change and energy issues affecting the garden state, in particular elevating environmental justice and low- and moderate-income communities through public events and public communications. It also convenes other nonprofit organizations focused on environmental protection to devise New ways to engage the public and to guide the implementation of key policy and regulatory proceedings to ensure the maximum pollution is removed from our air.
Njeja- the organization works to ensure organizations led by people of color, serving communities of color, are leading and represented in the public policy discourse.
