New Horizons Disability Empowerment provides programs and services in Northern Arizona that encourage and empower people with disabilities to self-determine the goals and activities of their lives. In 2016, the organization moved into its new facility, the Disability Empowerment Campus, where multiple nonprofit organizations serving people with disabilities in various ways work together, reducing costs and providing more services. The new facility features a disability-friendly design.

Program areas at New Horizons Disability Empowerment

Transportation program - in 2016 the organization moved into its New facility, the Disability Empowerment campus. Now multiple npos serving people with disabilities in various ways are working together, reducing costs and providing more services. This New facility will include a disabled veteran service center, home care, jobs programs, and an adaptive computer lab and gym, enhancing all the involved programs. Disability advocacy is a major program of the center. Following is a list of program accomplishments: the organization provided peer counseling seervices, information and referral services, independent living and life skills training, and helped peoplebecome gainfully employed. Due to community, federal, and state support, the organization was able to provide discounted fees for transportation services to their clients. The organization provided rides to the disabled and elderly.
Pv transit program - the pv transit service was started by the town of prescott valley and contracted with the nhdec to operate the service. The service is available to commuters, seniors, and people with disabilities. The pv transit provides microtransit services to people within the transit zone of prescott valley. Prescott valley is providing its public transit service to connect the commmunity and enhance its quality of life.
