Ct audubon: the grant money was used to develop a schoolyard habitat program at momauguin elementary school in east Haven ct that provided place-based, community-focused environmental education and stewardship. The program connected children to nature, trained teachers and enlisted local residents as partners that restored natural resources at the school.

New Haven urban resources initiative grant
New Haven land trust: the growing entrepreneurs composting track program provided three interns with professional and life skills by teaching them how to operate a community composting business. The pandemic interfered with recruiting food scrap donations from the community at large but the interns were able to develop their program using donations from a downtown soup kitchen and winchester community garden to convert food scraps into healthy soil that they distributed to the community garden.
New Haven ecology project: the planned farm and garden conferences became ten workshops both virtual and in person attracting 311 participants. Workshops were held from october 2020 through june of 2021. Topics covered included seedkeeping, natural dyes, food preservation, herbal diy, preserving food-sauerkraut, maple sugaring, bee keeping, gardening with kids and urban agriculture in specific underserved neighborhoods in New Haven.
Scsu foundation grantexpand harvest and donation of the campus garden through kelp fertilization. Provide interdisciplinary skill development opportunity to scsu students through internships that focus on environmental monitoring, land and marine stewardship, and project development. Provide opportunity for entrepreneurship and start-up development. Engage the local community through outreach events and the larger internet community through social media outreach. Feature project at lisocs kelp festival, which is scheduled to take place in milford, ct in summer 2021. Develop a business plan for the kelp fertilizer to present at coastal transitions conference shark tank pitch competition in 2022.
Southwest conservation district grantfirst steps for the creation of a farm river greenway trail in east Haven. The main deliverable of the project is a set of conceptual design plans and schematics for the greenway trail.
West river watershed coalition project grantproduce engineering design plans and initiate permitting to install bioengineered bank stabilization of the west river consisting of native vegetation and biodegradable soil erosion control.
