Program areas at Neuse River Golden Retriever Rescue
Nrgrr rescued 264 Golden retrievers and Golden mixes during the past year. 23 of these dogs were rescued internationally from turkey, kosovo, albania, and macedonia. We provided permanent homes for 249 dogs, including some with a variety of complex medical conditions including tumor removal, heart murmurs, gastrointestinal challenges, epilepsy, torn acls, and hip displasia. Dogs were treated for heartworms when needed and we performed spay/neuters on rescued dogs. Microchips were inserted and boarding and training to address behavioral issues were provided as needed.
