Neighborhood Farmers Markets

The Neighborhood Farmers Markets (nfm) served more than 170 Washington state farms and food producers through our Farmers Markets in 2022, providing low-barrier access to Market opportunities across 7 seattle neighborhoods. More than 550,000 seattle residents patronized the Markets, resulting in $13.3 million in local food sales by producers. Reflecting an ongoing commitment to ensuring affordable access to local food, nfm provided technical assistance and education to small producers to ensure access for low-income and senior residents using snap, fresh bucks, wic and fmnp assistance benefits. The growing for good and helping harvest programs additionally resulted in more than 92,000 pounds of fresh, nutrient-dense fruits and vegetables directed to more than 20 hunger relief organizations in the seattle-area. In 2022, nfm awarded $40,400 in emergency relief to small farms, the highest amount in the past 5 years due to record flooding and losses from other climate-related disasters.
