NECHAMA - Jewish Response to Disaster brings comfort to people impacted by natural disasters nationwide by equipping and leading volunteers in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. In 2022, Nechama deployed in the greater New Orleans area with United Way of St. Charles Parish to assist residents with repair and renovations of their personal residences using Nechama staff and board members. We used Nechama staff, board members and volunteers To provide resources To help the residents get their homes back into shape so they could move back into them.
Disaster preparedness:in an effort To help affected-communities and national and local partners, Nechama offers preparedness trainings aimed at improving the Disaster Response skills of local volunteers and staff.
