Program areas at Nebraska 4-H Foundation / Sew Whats New 4-H Club

Support 4-H camps and camp activities: provide outdoor experiences for young people. The camps provide youth with both instructional and recreational experiences. The Foundation maintains the camp facilities and provides camper scholarships for lower income children that need assistance. During the 2022 year, the Foundation owned camp was destroyed by fire. The camping program now utilized camp facilities owned by other organizations. The insurace proceeds, net of expenses of clean up, are reported as other income for the 2022 year.
Scholarships: scholarships are awarded college students through endowment funds and general support. All awards are monitored for eligibility and the recipients must attain required grades levels and other objectivies.
General 4-H support activities: support from Foundation includes awards for 4-H conferences including expenses for state winners to attend national competitions,recognition for 4-H volunteers, and other local club support. Foundation provides awards for Nebraska state fair winners and expenses for other activities and promotion of 4-H at the state fair.
