Program areas at NHC

MEMBER SERVICES: Provided information and support to members through policy/advocacy initiatives, legislative/regulatory activities and technical support/development. Major projects were Voluntary Health Agency (VHA) Standards of Excellence certification, government relations representatives retreat, VHA affinity group chief officers activities and meetings (medical, financial, development, communications, government relations, and legal affairs), member revenue survey, member management compensation survey, international alliance of patient organizations, social networking community outreach, senior management presentations/panels, member engagement reporting and website development/member job bank.

CONFERENCES: The Council sponsored the 26th annual three day leadership conference for VHA chief executive officers and their board volunteers at which issues relevant to the health arena were presented and discussed in lecture, roundtable and networking format.

SPECIAL PROJECTS: Provided leadership, research, analysis and support for the following: Major projects were Affordable Care Act implementation (essential health benefits, prescription medication access, Healthcare Exchange patient experience web based tool, out of pocket cost limits), the MODDERN Cures Act, Comparative Effectiveness Research and framing usability criteria, FDA patient information collection tool, and Progressive Approval.
