Program areas at NCSML
The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (ncsml) operates a Museum which reaches the community through exhibits, education as well as a non-circulating Library. The Museum stages 6 temporary exhibits in 2021 including "stitching history from the holocaust", "Slovak headdresses" from our collection of Czech glass, "treasures of slovakia", "the bias inside us and "formed in fire". Education progamiing traditionally features school study trips that provide multicultral adventure, connecting students to the larger, global community in a personal manner. Even though covid-19 changed the way we reach our audience, the ncsml was able to tell our stories to nearly 25,000 people.the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library (ncsml) operates a Museum which reaches the community through exhibits, education as well as a non-circulating Library. The ncsml presented our permanent exhibit, "faces of freedom and 7 temporary exhibits in 2022 including "treasures of slovakia", gridiron champs: george halas", "amazing athletes", "roman franc photography", "Czech innovations", "righting a wrong", "mardi gras and carnival traditions". Education programming traditionally features school study trips that provide multicultural adventure, connecting students to the larger, global community in a personal manner. The ncsml was able to tell our stories to more that 25,000 people. The ncsml relied on virtual and social media ot reach our students and patrons. The multilingual Library collection includes books, periodicals, oral histories, and archival materials. The Library holds the largest collection of Czech and Slovak recorded music outside of the Czech republic and slovakia.
