Description
As America's leading choral institution for youth, the National Children's Chorus (NCC) aims to provide young singers with the finest music education and performance experience possible.

Program areas at NCC

The National Children's Chorus currently serves more than 800 students in the cities of los angeles, new york, Washington, d.c. and san francisco, providing an unparalleled comprehensive educational curriculum that guides young musicians from the age of 5 through 18. Graduates from the program each year are accepted into top colleges, universities and conservatories around the world. Weekly training includes choral education as part of a larger conservatory-like regimen that features classes in music theory, sight-reading, ear training, solo voice, conducting and composition. The program focuses heavily on the building of key skills to create superb musical fluency, as well as reinforcing confidence, self-esteem, social awareness and personal development. With multiple levels of learning within a full suite of musical disciplines, students refine their abilities throughout the year in a nourishing environment that cultivates their potential and prepares them for college studies. As an ensemble, the National Children's Chorus presents world-class performances nationally and internationally as the culmination of their performance learning experiences.
