Our Place Nashville empowers adults with developmental disabilities by providing affordable housing, offering work that is meaningful and creating an inclusive community in which to live. Residents benefit from securing employment and volunteer opportunities, while 100% of them work and/or volunteer full- or part-time. They also participate weekly in life skill classes on a range of topics, including money management and nutrition.

Program areas at Our Place Nashville

Our Place Nashville works with residents with developmental disabilities to secure employment and volunteer opportunities. 100% of residents work and/or volunteer full- or part-time. Weekly life skill classes on topics ranging from money management, nutrition to self-defense and avoiding internet scams are provided. Educational workshops on songwriting, singing, filmmaking and sketch comedy are facilitated. A weekly book club, led by community volunteers, that meets at a neighborhood caf has been started. Each friendship house builds community by sharing one communal supper each week in addition to one-on-one or small group activities during the week. Additional social and educational events are provided on a regular basis, as well as working with individuals and families on the waiting list.
