Program areas at Namikango Mission
The Mission trains and disciples malawian church leaders with focused classes for sudents that are selected through a thorough application process - referred to as the discipleship training institute. In addition the malawian staff hold seminars, bible studies, and church trainings throughout the entire year.
Namikango trains qualified leaders from the local churches who are then able to train members in the following avenues -village savings and loans. 65+ trainers have established groups all over malawi to provide an avenue to save for important expenses like home repairs, schooling for kids and health care.- conservation agriculture farming method. The Mission utilizes this method on campus for teaching and conducting trainings for over 2000 individuals since 2017. It also trains lead farmers to pass along the training to other local farmers
The Mission maintains a maternity & out-patient clinic where an averageof 100 babies are born each month. We provide the building, facilites, andmedicines to support women's development, hiv & aids prevention, and general care. In the hiv/aids program there are 7 primary trainers, who will each typically lead 3 seminars (4 day seminars) each year. Thus, we will have 21 total 4-day seminars any given year.
Programs and related expenses to communication, staff expenses for maintenance and security of the Mission grounds, and various Mission work that includes ntonda primary school that has over 2,000 elementary age students. This also includes infrastructure improvements, sustainability programs for supporting coffee farmers, and supporting local needs.
