We carried out activities for advocating on behalf of ethnic people in Myanmar, to ensure their voices are heard. communicate updates and analysis to provide the public and international community with knowledge and understanding of the situation in Myanmar.
The purpose was to monitor the upsurge in violence and human rights violations in the country triggered by the militarys 1 February 2021 coup dtat which overthrew the Aung San Suu Kyi led National League for Democracy government. Myanmar Military has brutally cracked down on protesters, killing hundreds and detaining thousands.
We conducted training on research and advocacy on human rights and religious crimes committed by Myanmar military.
We mobilized Myanmar diaspora communitys collective expertise to provide strategic advice to actors on Myanmar working for human rights, peace, democracy, justice and accountability.
We organized events for community outreach among Burmese diasporas in the U.S. to communicate updates and analysis to provide with knowledge and understanding of the human rights and violence situation in Myanmar.
Organized events and community affairs and human rights awareness campaigns about on the ground situations in Myanmar and ethnic controlled areas in New York and Washington, D.C.
Directed programs to carry out activities to engagement with United Nations member states including EU and ASEAN countries for advocating on behalf of international displaced communities in Myanmar to ensure their voices are heard. We also produced updates and analysis to provide the public and international community with knowledge and understanding of the situation in Myanmar.
