Program areas at Music For All
In fall 2021, Music for All was able to relaunch it's fall bands of america competition season concluding with the largest of these events, the bands of america grand national championship in indianapolis, Indiana. Grand nationals included a leadership session and exhibition performance by the indianapolis combined band, orchestra and choir programs, future Music educator workshop, and student leadership workshop.participants served: 89,852 including students from 572 schools. Total program attendance: 213,597
In fiscal year 2022, Music for All continued to build on the vast offerings of educational resources supporting teachers as they explore new ideas and continue to provide inspiration far into their teaching careers. Education.musicforall.org offers materials for every Music educator; including videos, articles, publications, webinars, and podcasts at no cost. Music for All strives to be a catalyst to ensure that every child across america has access and opportunity to active music-making. In addition to previous offerings, virtual Music for All summer symposium programing was offered in 2021 due to the continued covid-19 pandemic. The programming consisted of presenting lunchtime chats (conversations with Music educators and student leaders; providing the opportunity to celebrate successes of the past school year and prepare for a positive 2021-22 academic year), and summer video sessions covering specific areas of study.
Every four years, Music for All assembles an honor band from students across the united states through an audition process. In december 2021, the 320-piece national ensemble with winds, percussion, and a flag and dance team assembled in southern California for rehearsals, performances at the tournament of roses bandfest and disneyland, special activities, and a featured appearance in the rose parade on new year's day and for broadcast worldwide. The members of the 2022 honor band represented 213 schools from 39 of the united states.
Music for All newsletter a series of digital enewsletters and printed newsletters that are emailed to approximately 110,000 subscribers per monthly issue and mailed to approximately 8,000 high school band directors one time annually with information about All of Music for alls educational programs and events.advocacy programs a series of programs providing educational and advocacy resources, including a series of affiliated regional Music festivals. Other advocacy programs include: professional development programs, advocacy in action awards program providing recognition to support Music in our schools, working to ensure Music education is available to every child, with emphasis on increasing access to Music education for students and teachers from underappreciated communities, including small, rural, and urban schools. Music for All offers these programs independently and also collaborates with a number of other programs to extend the reach of its advocacy programming.
